1. Choosing the right lawyer.
We recognise the importance of finding a lawyer who you can trust. We are happy to chat with you before you make your choice. We recommend that you speak to others before you choose to instruct us. There is no charge for this: after all, you would not expect to pay for a pair of shoes that you try on but decide not to buy.

2. Will I have to go to court?
The answer to this is probably no. Around 95% of all personal injury claims settle long before a court trial, most without legal proceedings even being issued. However, in order to ensure that you get the right damages, we will proceed with your claim on the basis that it might go to court. This ensures that we are fully prepared and tends to prompt an earlier rather than later settlement. Remember, because we do not get paid until the end of your case, it does not suit us to deliberately delay your claim. On the other hand, we cannot properly settle your claim until all the evidence is available.
3. Will I have to see a doctor?
The answer is yes. As a claimant, you have the burden of proving your case. We can only do this by obtaining independent medical evidence. We will make all of the arrangements for this.
4. The claims process.
Time limits
Generally, a claim must be lodged with a court within three years of the accident date. However, special rules apply to children and those with a mental disability. Special rules also apply to accidents abroad, assault cases and accidents at sea and in the air. In any event, we recommend that investigations are carried out as soon as possible. Often it is important to speak to witnesses before they forget important facts or can no longer be traced. Often accident sites or defective equipment needs to be inspected before faults are rectified or evidence is lost. Preserving evidence is essential so we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.
